Hansa 303 Dinghies

Self-righting ballasted shallow draft drop-keel one- or two-person dinghy with mainsail and jib, roller-reefing, and single handed joy stick control. As standard they have forward facing deckchair seating. One of our fleet has been adapted with a bucket seat for those needing lateral support. Two of the fleet have also been modified with self-tacking jibs for single handed use. The low freeboard allows for easy access for ambulant people and those requiring a hoist.

We update our fleet when we can which reduces maintenance costs and the boats we no longer use are found new homes in other Sailability Groups. All of our boats old and new have been acquired with donated funds without which we could not operate and for which we are extremely grateful.

Squib

Donated by Mark Duffield

The Squib is a National Class keel boat class, sailed at WOBYC.
Just over 20ft long and suitable for all ages – sit in, not sit on. Can be sailed with 1 to 4 people and has one seat with lateral support.

RS Venture

Donated by Malcolm & Rose Brown

The RS Venture is 4.9m long with 2m beam with a ballasted centreboard making it an exceptionally stable boat and providing more thrills and fun for those who like a bit of speed and excitement. Also has a spinnaker for even more excitement.

Our boat has two bucket seats for helm and crew and features dual controls for training purposes. A third person can be carried in the well at the back. This boat is primarily used by those with good body stability.

Waveney One Design

No. 32 Donated by the Strowger Family

No. 34 Purchased with funds from the Richard Thurston Estate

This is a traditional Broadland Yacht of fibreglass construction, half decker 20’0 in length and 6’3” beam, built for mainly sailing on the Broads. It has a 3ft draft and a gaff riff with a modified raised boom to accommodate our sailors.

The boat is ideal for members needing a Carer with them whilst sailing or for those wanting a bit more space or who would like to experience sailing a larger boat.

Pioneer Safety Boat

Knuckles

This is our Safety Boat Knuckles which we saved for and purchased just before lock down.
The front of the boat drops down which would enable us to make safe rescues. It is a sturdy and versatile safety boat.
