HOW TO CHECK IF SAILING IS CANCELLED –

If for any reason you think it is doubtful that sailing will take place, watch out for an email, or look at Waveney Sailability Hotline Group on WhatsApp.

Funding

Our initial funding came from local Rotary Clubs, some of whom still support us today. Other funds over the years have been donated by individuals, local businesses, local authorities, legacies and grants.

We are a volunteer run organisation and nobody gets paid and we therefore rely on donations, our own fund-raising activities and/or small grants. A small amount also comes from membership and volunteers’ subscriptions and donations to our on-site café which operates on a Tuesday when we are sailing.

Running costs each year are in the region of £26,000 which doesn’t include replacing necessary equipment, so ongoing funds are vital to keep us going and we would like to say a huge thankyou to our Donors who have supported us over the last 20 years.

DONATE

If you would like to donate directly to us and avoid any charges then please see our contacts page for details.

Waveney Sailability offers a safe space for those with disabilities to learn to sail and race if they wish. It is an opportunity to socialise and make friends with those in similar situations to themselves who will understand them.

Being on the water gives individuals a feeling of equality, confidence and a sense of achievement as they learn to sail.

It also helps those who are not able to sail solo as they can be taken out on the water in one of the larger keel boats and just enjoy the joy and freedom of sailing.

Please help us to continue to offer all this by donating today.
