Our first Mardle of 2019 was a bit chaotic. The tide was exceptionally high and the entrance into WOBYC was impossible unless you were wearing tall wellington boots. Early arrivals, including Joyce and Milou, sensibly decided the meeting was cancelled and went home. Bob and Keith did the same. After a bit of negotiation we gained access to the Council office meeting room and made use of that. Richard produced some tea and coffee, Jackie had mince pies and chocolate rolls and the Council clerk offered us some milk so all was well.
A bottle of champagne donated by Richard has led to another 100 square raffle sheet. The first squares were quickly filled, many more are available!!
Lively discussions ensued and then Glenis and Sarah turned up with cake. It was Glenis’s birthday. John Davis, who knew the cupboard contents in the kitchen, led the all male tea makers, and we were suitably refreshed.
The tables were cleared and the washing up done by about 2.45 when Kieron and Ann arrived. Kieron managed to finish up the cake, washed down by a quick coffee, and we all went home happy.
