Originally planned for the 2nd September, due to bad weather, the Regatta had to be rescheduled to the 9th October. A little chillier than we had planned but overall quite a good day weatherwise.
The first two races were back-to-back and because of the slightly gusty conditions Hansa dinghies needed to be reefed. Despite the strong winds the sailors handled the conditions well with some jockeying for places going on behind the leaders.
Next it was the Volunteers who took to the water with Alan emerging victorious at the finish line.
Once the morning racing was done all were treated to a fantastic lunch provided by Hilary and her team. The spread included soups, jacket potatoes and a selection of homemade cakes and crumble. A great recharge after the morning’s racing.
After lunch the wind eased for the two back-to-back afternoon races which once again showed the competitive spirit and skills of our Sailors, son much so that Stuart and Tony finished with equal points and the winner was decided on count back.
